Merry Christmas 2017

Amelia Bedelia...
Merry Christmas!  Christmas is so magical when you have kids...even when you are only 3 months old.
We spent a lot of time learning about Christ and his birth.  Unfortunately, winter time means illness and we spent a lot of time at home to either avoid getting sick or avoid spreading germs one kid or another happened to have.
We were able to go to the Live Nativity in Alpine (our annual tradition) and meet Santa and Mrs. Claus this year.
Your sweet and peaceful personality is really starting to show and I love spending my days taking care of you and your siblings.  It is the most difficult thing I do, but also the most rewarding and the most amazing thing I have ever spent time doing.
For Christmas, Santa brought you the original "Amelia Bedelia" book and a peacock hooded towel.  You received other gifts of clothes and books and you seemed to enjoy the family time during your first Christmas.

First Thanksgiving

Amelia...
Happy first Thanksgiving!  Following a kids race for the Carter and Bridget, we spent the day eating and playing with extended family at Great Aunt Debbie and Great Uncle Duff's house in Cottonwood Heights.  You do well hanging out and doing whatever the rest of us are doing - and it is much appreciated!
The day after Thanksgiving, we went and cut down our Christmas tree.  It was a pretty windy day on the mountain and you are definitely not a fan of the wind, so you and I spent the entire time hanging out in the car.
I hope you always know there is something to be grateful for in every stage of life.

2 Months

Amelia...
Where have the last two months gone??  You fit right in with our family and the peace you bring is exactly what we needed without even knowing it.

A few days ago, Uncle Peter and Aunt Chantra came to meet you.  It was so sweet to see you snuggle them.
You sleep well at night - you get up, eat, and then go right back to sleep a few times.  During the day you are definitely more of a cat napper and rarely do you sleep for long stretches for naps (unless you are snuggling Dad, of course).
You are very much a Daddy's girl still.  You hold onto him so tightly - it is adorable.
Your smile is so big and it lights up the whole room - I hope you always find reasons to share your infectious smile!
We are all still smitten with you.  Carter and Bridget love to hold you and help take care of you.
You are getting bigger everyday and you are no longer so tiny!  You were the smallest of our three babies when you were born but you are quickly catching up.
You are happy and such an easy going baby and we love you!

Happy Halloween!

Amelia...
Happy first Halloween!  You had a cute ghost onsie and black tutu and you were content to just hang out at home handing out candy to trick or treaters.

I love you and I look forward to many more Halloweens with you!

Baby Blessing

1 Month

Amelia...
You had an appointment at two weeks old and you had not yet made it back to birth weight.  In fact, you had almost lost an entire pound!  Dr. Harrison had me "prove my milk supply" and since my milk supply proved to be just fine, we waited for you to put on weight.  Eventually you did and you are as healthy as can be!

Length: 20" (36%)
Head Circumference: 36 cm (73%)

You love to be swaddled and snuggled while sleeping during the day.  At night you sleep well swaddled in your portable crib next to our bed.
You are alert and watch your brother and sister all day long.
You are obviously a daddy's girl and you just light up and snuggle right in when ever Dad picks you up.

At about 3 weeks old you went on your first hike.  We hiked up to Ghost Falls and it was the perfect outing.  We also went to Cornbelly's and you just snuggled in and went along for the ride.
You met Grandpa Kurt and he is one of your favorite snuggle buddies now too.

We love you so much and you are the perfect addition to our family!
